Preliminary drawings is the stage in the design process, where your ideas and our drawings start to "come to life". The drawings included in our preliminary drawings generally include concept drawings, floor plans, elevations, and design ideas. These drawings can range from quick freehand sketches to measured perspective drawings. The preliminary drawings are the basis for future production drawings. They may need to be modified to suit the building process or workshop capabilities.
The pictorial sketch shown above is drawn using manual drafting tools. Our goal, here at Sharpe's Design, is to work toward a description of the new house through understanding how you'll use it, rather than jumping to the design solely based on things such as tastes or fashions. For example: we would start by listing some of the general features or qualities you would want such as: lots of privacy, sun, One or two stories, good views, high or low ceilings, fireplace, etc., and would use this information to design or modify the layout.
